Question: For this assignment, your task is to prepare a partial construction budget estimate for a small office building project using the budget spreadsheet template attached to this assignment. You may suggest an alternative building of your choice if you choose to do so. This can be a project you are involved with or very familiar with, but please keep the scope manageable and preferably comparable to the one suggested.

Submit the completed Excel worksheet to the assignment on Brightspace course website. This cost will be used as the benchmark for your analysis in following assignments.

Building size

100 ft x 100 ft with 25 ft by 25 ft structural bays; 15 ft floor-floor height, two levels

Building floors

6" slab on grade with troweled finish; 24" x 24" x 12" spread footings for columns; above-grade occupied floors are poured in place concrete on 18 gauge 3" deep corrugated steel deck; roof deck is lightweight concrete on the same steel deck

Building envelope

Brick walls; loose-laid and ballasted 60 mil EPDM roof membrane

Elevators and stairs

Two 2500 lb. capacity hydraulic elevators, two sets of 3'-6" wide straight stairs with 18 risers each and wall mounted handrails both sides.
