To facilitate learning, interest and involvement, you are asked to research and prepare a paper analyzing a Oman hotel/hospitality company (can be one of the field trip hotels). Please thoroughly analyze the chosen company along its specific strength and weaknesses, the opponunities and limitations, the advantages and disadvantages etc. the company incorporates.
You should search for as much information as you can find about your chosen company. There are two major sources of information a) deskllibrary research (books, articles, company information.
Internet) and b) personal contacts. The value of the latter depends on the accessibility of the organization or your personal relationship with the selected company. You may want to make the effort to contact and interview executives, industry experts, channel members, advertising/PR agencies, customers etc. to refine your knowledge.
Course Assessment/Evaluation
The value of carrying out a company analysis or audit is that you will learn to look at a company 's assumptions and operations from a critical point of view. In doing this, you will probably notice the value drivers of an hotel concept as well as you may come across mistakes. omissions, or shortcomings that the company needs to correct, if it is to become or remain a successful organization. The paper should run up to approx. 7-8 pages, not counting exhibits (1.5 spaced. 12point type, margins 2.5 cm (left/right, header/foot). In evaluating the paper. the main weight will be placed on the following factors:
