1. Once the candidate has been selected. The selection panel will call for a meeting. What advice would you give to the selection panel convenor (it can be the HR Manager) concerning undertaking negotiations to gain his or her acceptance of an offer of employment as well as retain the candidate within the organization?

2. Prepare a contract of employment that could be issued to new employees.  As a minimum the contract should include:

• employee's name and address
• position, department and duties
• supervisor/manager
• salary
• additional allowances such as overtime, meals etc
• superannuation
• hours of work
• leave - eg annual, personal etc
• commencement date
• any other appropriate information

3. Prepare an email that could be used to write to supervisors, managers, and employees to inform them of the details of the new employee.

4. Search on the Internet to find an induction checklist and attach it to your portfolio. Review the induction checklist and List and explain the strengths and weaknesses.
