Preparation and Measurement of the Density of Solutions

Using Archimede principle determine the densities of two solutions 10% salt water and 40% volume by alcohol solution.

% =part/whole*100

% composition(of solute) by mass = g solute/(g solute+g solvent) * 100

For salt Solution =g salt/(g salt +g water) * 100

% composition by volume= mL solute/ (mL solute+ mL solvent) * 100

For alcohol solution =mL alcohol/(mL alcohol+mL water) * 100

Density = mass cylinder in air/volume cylinder

Volume cylinder= mass in air-mass in solution/density solution

Given: mass of cylinder in air 9.051, mass of cylinder in salt sol 5.098, mass of cylinder in alcohol sol 6.016.
