Non-profits must behave differently than they have in the past because best practices ensure relevance and prevent extinction and organizations can advance. In order to succeed in raising funds as a nonprofit organization, they need to think and act like a business. With all the scandals involving inexplicable spending, donors are very cautious about how to spend their money. To remain relevant and current in the market, a nonprofit must impose business-like standards, because people do judge and compare them to such.

So when we consider the post above and the comment regarding functioning as a business....are there challenges that emerge that must be considered in that decision choice...what makes you value the nonprofit?
