There are many programs at colleges and universities that offer internships/co-op opportunities as part of their program curriculum. Internships/co-op placements provide meaningful entry-level work experience for graduates.

For employers, these internships can mean an opportunity to have help with special projects, add diversity to company operations, and even cover leaves of absences. Interns gain practical work experience and develop employability skills.

QUESTION TO ANSWER: Given what you have learned so far in this course, do you feel that internships/ co-ops should be paid or unpaid. Explain your viewpoint. If so, how much do you recommend or suggest this decision be made? How would recommend an employer decide the answers to both these questions.

As you answer these questions, consider what do employers receive from interns and what do students get from the opportunities? Also, is there any additional information you would need to consider before making a decision?
