Assignment - Presentation and development of Scenario
Task requirements
Specific Guidance- Give only one scenario and all the processes you took including the polices and referral made on that particular case study you have chosen including the contemporary issues faced for example shortage of staff, covid vaccinations, funding/ wages, long waiting list,police, policies and legislations, mental health etc
This is a 5 minute presentation to explore the scenario you have developed from your practice experience. The scenario is to describe an event where you worked with another practitioner from another occupation for example GP, police, local authorities ,ambulance, dentists, dieticians etc
Developing your Scenario
- The scenario is focussed on the relationship between you and another practitioner from a different occupation
- Do not focus too much on the service user as you could go off track here. You do need to include them and what you and the other practitioner were trying to achieve to support them.
- The scenario needs to include the title of your role, a description of your overall duties, a description of your codes of conduct, and a description of what you were doing in that scenario.
- The scenario needs to include the title of the other practitioner (nurse? Social worker?) a description of their overall duties, a description of their codes of conduct, and a description of their codes of conduct.
- The scenario is a description only. No reflection - just describe what happened factually.
Your scenario:
The scenario needs to focus on one piece of work that you carried out working jointly with another practitioner. The aim is to explore your relationship with that practitioner. Please write in the first person (eg, ‘I')
How could the skills of Communication, Team working, Emotional competence and elegant challenging, Confidence in sharing information be applied to this scenario?
Useful questions to help you structure your description:
Are there issues of professional hierarchy / power difference?
What happened? What was the situation? What was my role? What did I plan to achieve? What did I do? Who was present? What was their role? What did they do? How did it end?
