The Mayan religion had around 165 Gods they worshiped. They were very loved for their human-like qualities for the Mayan people to be familiar with. The most important God to the people is that of Itzamna who created humans and the father of the Bacabs. He was the father of fire who created Earth. The Maya believed that he gave them the calendar and writing as well. With other Gods that we have talked about there was usually only one God for the people to worship, with the Maya they have over 100 they choose to worship. Mayan's have a God they worship for many aspects of their life, while the other Gods we read about are not quite as powerful as the Gods that Mayan's worship.
