Part 2

You can agree or disagre in the following

Power is defined as the ability to exert influence or control over others. It dictates what goes on in organizations from decision making to performance outcomes. Time, energy, creativity, and productivity are either wasted or never developed due to power struggles. Combative representatives, identity clashes, animosity, and being bias are some issues that could cause power struggles in healthcare facilities. In order for a healthcare facility to alleviate power imbalances, they could come up with a Board of Trustees. The members of this board would be individuals that the organization trust to use their power for the greater good of the organization and make sound decisions.

Power abuse in organizations is referred to as the use of power in ways not generally acceptable and, involves self-interest, and does not have to organization's best interest at heart. Two main reasons for power abuse are advancement for personal ends at the expense of customers, shareholders, or employee ends and advancement of organizational ends. Power abuse is mainly done at the hands of managers. They hold a key role in a healthcare facility and the success of departments and the company. One approach that leaders in the organization could use to move solutions involving power abuse is by collaborating with one another. One leader may have control over one and another leader could have control over something else. When the two combine their abilities then they will be able to run a successful business. Another approach would be to conduct different training classes for those who hold some type of power within the organization. Training classes can give insight on the right way that leaders can use their power and the consequences of what will happen if they abuse their power.
