Cloud 9 is a manufacturer of household cleaning products based in Sydney. Its strategic expansion plan for 2020 was to open a new distribution warehouse close to the road networks. Unfortunately, the new site is quite close to a densely populated area and a local school, and the plan has been objected to by residents due to the potential risk of contamination and pollution. 

In response to the objection, the local council has stipulated a set of compliance requirements that the company must follow to allow the warehouse to open. 

By 2022, the company must: 

  • Reduce the environmental impact of the plant 
  • Develop the site to become more sustainable 
  • Reduce the risk of contamination 
  • Monitor and reduce damage and tainted goods waste.
