Question

There are many potential ethical and legal implications for each of the following practice members. The ethical implications are that Stephanie could have possibly forged the APRNs name so the patient could get the script refilled. She has been a medical assistant for so long that she knows how things work. This ethically very wrong and can directly effect the nurse practitioner, medical director, and the whole practice. The prescription being written is an ethical issue of patient safety and conflict of interest. When looking at legal issues laws may have been broken here if the medical assistant stepped out of her scope of practice. One ethical reason that could have been an implication or the medical assistant to do this was her moral determinants. She could have felt morally inclined to help this patient and that is why she wrote a script herself using the providers credentials (Berwick, 2020).
