Air enters a compressor at 105 kPa and 300 K with a volumetric flow rate of 12 m3 /min and exits at 1200 kPa and 400 K. Heat transfer occurs at a rate of 2 kW from the compressor to its surroundings. Assuming ideal-gas behaviour for air, steady flow, and negligible effects of kinetic and potential energy determine the power input (kW) to the compressor.
