Sonya and Cassie visited a Zuuk Night Club located in Kuala Lumpur city centre to attend a graduation party hosted by their course mate. Cassie became rather drunk and got into an argument with the club's security officers in regards to the matter of her lost purse and car key. Both Sonya and Cassie were really aggressive in their confrontation with the officers, causing the officers to restrain them in prevention of them physically harming other customers in the crowded night club. During the course of the restraint, Sonya and Cassie suffered serious bruises on their hands and legs.
Soon after they returned home, Sonya and Cassie decided to circulate a post on a consumer review site, Clubscritique, that highlighted the incident with pictures, claiming that Zuuk Night Club failed to supervise their security officers and treated their customers in an inhuman way. The post soon became viral across Malaysia and was sensationalised by a number of news and blog sites, causing a sharp decline in Zuuk's sales.
