Agree or disagree and why?

"Personally, I believe that social media has had an extremely positive effect on the consumer industry. Starting in the 1960s, the consumer era has taken over our society. People have been blinded by the era of consumerism and media blinding and manipulation. Social media has been able to alter this perfect image that the media tries to portray for different items. Business owners may put out information on their products that can be misleading. We as a society tend to not see the dangers of certain products and just blindly buy into them. Social media however, has given us an opportunity to learn. Through means like Twitter and TikTok, people can get their voices out there. They can share information they know. Information about damaging and dangerous products that were consuming. Can inform us about the lies that the media shares, etc. I think that these social media platforms can be extremely helpful in exposing truths, however it can also be dangerous."
