Assessment Briefs
50% Individual A3 poster presentation which requires students to devise a complete corporate identity and marketing slogan for a hypothetical new full service airline operator. The poster will be due in week 7 of semester one.
50% Individual 2,000 word written report detailing the strategic business decisions that need to be taken to enable a new start up airline to launch a defined new route. The report will be due in week 11 of semester one.
Poster presentation
You have been commissioned to deisgn a complete corporate identity for a hypothetical new Canadian full-service carrier called Qualitas.
Your poster must include the following elements:
1. Your name, student ID, and title of the presentation.
2. An annotated graphic depiction of the new corporate identity as it will appear on one of the carrier's A320 aircraft (a blank template is provided for this purpose)
3. The proposed marketing strapline of your airline.
Your commentary must provide a rationale for your choice of livery, logo, and marketing strapline. This should include a consideration of why you have chosen to employ particular colours, fonts, visual motifs, and phrases.
Blank A320 template for use in your presentation. Please note that you may use any other image of an A320 if you wish but the aircraft you depict must be an A320.

A new start up full-service airline intends to commence daily transpacific operations between the cities of Auckland in New Zealand and San Francisco on the western coast of the USA - a distance of over 10,500km with an average flight time of 12 hours. Critically examine the factors the airline's senior management team will need to consider with respect to fleet planning, aircraft acquisition and scheduling for these intended services.
