Intro:

Upon further research, climate change does affect our oceans tremendously. Warming climate on Earth causes the sea level to rise in numerous ways. Firstly, when water warms it expands to take more space. Secondly, the burning of fossil fuels that increases the chemical composition of seawater which makes it more acidic. The ocean absorbs the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and when dissolved into the water it produces carbonic acid which is also impacting marine life. Coral reefs are important to our ecosystems for many reasons like providing shelter for many life forms, they protect our coastlines in storms, they are a food source for the marine food chain. Climate change also affects the currents in the ocean, threatens small islands in the Pacific Ocean and melting of polar ice. In my research, I will go more in-dept explaining with factual evidence on the impact of climate change on the oceans and possible mitigations.

Conclusion:

Global warming is risk to humanity and the environment. World leaders and scientist need better policies and strategical plans to fight climate change which threatens the future of our world. The main menace that needs immediate attention is the high levels of carbon dioxide emissions. Every effect of global warming stems from high carbon dioxide emissions. However, it can be reduced by using renewable sources and by planting and protecting forests. This would helps lessen the amount of CO₂ in the atmosphere and increasing oxygen levels. Investing in these simple mitigations means investing in a better world.
