Assignment
Goals:
- Understanding of the value of data and application of results from technical statistical analysis to decision making.- Understanding of using descriptive & inferential (or predictive like linear regression) statistics to describe and address issues and challenges related to a real-world problem.- Technical skills of using R to perform statistical analysis (both descriptive and inferential) and visualization techniques.- Written skills to effectively communicate the results of your analysis.
A company asks you to perform an analysis to find patterns in the way annual bonuses are distributed to the employees. You are asked to prepare a report that will include at least the following:
a) Plot the annual bonuses using the appropriate graph so that any outliers are clearly distinguishable. It is suggested that you remove any extreme outliers for the rest of the analysis.
b) Test the claim that men are given higher bonuses than women and plot the appropriate graph that demonstrates your conclusion
c) Use the ages of the employees to divide them into age groups (in a way that you state) and test whether there are differences in the average salary between the age groups and whether interactions between age group and sex explain the annual bonus.
d) Create models (at least 3) to predict the annual bonus of the employees (some of the models should include interactions between the variables).

• Technical Soundness (70%) - Data sources and collection method - Detailed explanation of the variables and associated level of measurement - Correct methodology for addressing the given problem. - Identification of unusual observations, type of measurement scale of each variable. - Characterization of any distribution involved. - Appropriate graphical and/or numerical summaries - Correct statistical tools and methodology used to analyse datasets. • Completeness (10%) - No obvious questions are left unaddressed.
Evaluation Criteria of Assignment: • Technical Report Style (10%) - Appropriate formatting, spacing and paragraphs. - Existence of sections with appropriate content. - Existence of figures and tables with appropriate description. - Existence of appropriate references and bibliography style. • Clarity (10%) - Quality of written communication language. - Clear presentation of the area and of the associated problem. - Clear interpretation and presentation of results from statistical analysis. - Documentation of all steps performed during the analysis. - Reproducibility of your work. Please describe in detail all your steps in your statistical analysis or any outputs from the software you employed.
Need all graphs-calculations-formulas presented on word file to be taken from Rstudio Notes: • This assignment contributes towards 40% of the total assessment for this course. • The report that you will submit will undergo all necessary checks against plagiarism. • This work will be assessed as follows: a) The report to be submitted. A technical report of a maximum page limit of 5 pages, including all (if any) appendices, references, figures and tables, describing all techniques you applied on the given dataset to address a real-world problem. The font size should be no smaller than 12pt. [100% of this work ] • You should submit your work via Moodle and 2 hard copies at CIIM relevant office.

The tubes produced by a machine are defective. If six tubes are inspected at random , determine the probability that.
o This is a linear model. If your model needs a different engine, then you need to rethink your approach to the model. Remember, there are no IF, Max, or MIN statements in linear models.
