After reading the assigned short stories, answer the following questions adhering to the rules found in the Guidelines document located in the Course Menu and in the attachments:

1.  In the short story "Gryphon," what does the narrator's attitude toward Miss Ferenczi reveal about his own character?

2.  Also in the short story "Gryphon," in what sense is the narrator's mother a foil for Miss Ferenci?

3.  In the short story "The Storm," what is the atmosphere of the story?  How does the weather help to create the story's atmosphere?

4.  Also, in the short story "The Storm," in what respects does the storm cause the events of the story?  Note:  Include in your response specific events that occur because of the storm.  Is the presence of the storm essential to the story?
