A comic strip of at least five (5) panels about a specific event in the last lesson about the Russian Revolution.  Here are some suggestions on possible topics:

  • February Days
  • July Days
  • October Revolution
  • Soviet collectivization

Instructions:

  1. You might use a site like PowToon.com for your comic, but this is not required. You can also use Microsoft Word, or you can draw by hand and scan (or take a picture) of your drawing for submission.
  2. Depending on your topic, you may need to do some extra research using a search engine like Google for more background information.
  3. Plan out each panels carefully.  Make sure you can tell the whole story in 5 to 10 panels.
  4. Give the comic strip an appropriate title so that a reader will understand the event you are illustrating.
  5. Each panel should include at least one text bubble.
  6. All panels should include a background to help indicate where the event is taking place; you might use Google Images to find an appropriate historical background image.
  7. Be as factual as possible (no aliens abducting Aurangzeb or superheroes fighting the Mughal army, please).
  8. Drawings should show some creative effort, so avoid stick people.
  9. Remember, proper spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar is expected.
