Systems Analysis Homework: Creating A Context Diagram
Ready Staff provides handy man / odd jobs services for its customers. Similar to Uber, Ready Staff’s staff members are bonded and insured, independent contractors that choose which jobs they will take.
Your project is to design a system to support their scheduling system from placement of the customer order to payment for services.
Customers send a RFP (request for proposal) of their job to Ready Staff . The Ready Staff manager creates a proposal that is returned to the customer. The customer and manager will take turns editing the proposal until there is agreement on the scope and price of the job. Then a contract is sent to the customer, who signs and returns the contract. After the customer returns the contract, management will make the Proposal available to Ready Staff staffers for viewing.
Staffers will view at the unassigned proposals and select the job(s) they want to perform. The manager checks the Staffer’s qualifications and approves (disapproves) the Staffer’s request and assigns the Staffer to the proposal. After completing the job(s), the staffer signs the proposal to indicate that the work has been done.
After the work is done, the customer must ‘sign off’ on the job indicating that the job is finished to their satisfaction and also issue the payment. The manager regularly views the proposal looking for ones where the job is completed by the Staffer, but the customer has not signed off. For these instances, the manager must find out why the customer hasn’t yet signed off and either fix the problem or encourage the customer to sign off and issue the payment for the work. After the customer payment is received, the manager initiates a EFT (electronic funds transfer) payment to the Staffer.
