Assignment

For this assignment, you will pick one protein in the body and do a bit of research on it. You may have to look up some of the names of proteins in the body before you start.

For example, "muscle" is not the name of a protein, the two proteins that make up the majority of muscle are actin and myosin. You may use one of these for your assignment. Some other options are insulin and hemoglobin (examples given in the text), but you can pick your own too.

Once you have a protein, do some research to find the function of this protein and the structure.

Submit:

1) A short summary of how this protein functions in the body. Use your own words (do not copy or just rewrite what you found in your research). Also tell how many amino acids are in this protein.

2) A brief detail of what would happen if the body was lacking in this protein.

3) List the source used to find your information.
