The presentation and the culmination of all of your hard work. Here you will create a well-informed and research-based informative presentation to educate your patient. The format is up to you but it must include:

• Diagnosis

• Type of illness (acute, chronic) I chose AIDS

• Body system(s) affected, including the normal anatomy and physiology of the system and pathophysiology of the system in the presence of this disease

• Symptoms that the patient may experience, including any that should warrant a phone call or immediate medical attention

• Treatments available, including anything that can be done at home and lifestyle changes that will be necessary

• Significance of the disease to the general population, including information such as how many people are affected by the disease annually, does the disease pose a threat to the health of others, are the treatment costs high, does the condition greatly affect quality of life or life expectancy, etc.

• Any other information that you feel would benefit a patient (this is where having a personal connection to the disease can help you shine, without sharing personal information with the patient)

• Since much of what is written on the main slides or graphics is not intended to provide rich details, you will be required to include 250 words PER SLIDE on the bottom notes (The type of detail expected is to simulate what you would be verbally explaining to your patient with this diagnosis and should demonstrate to your instructor your mastery of the anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology related to your disease, and the symptoms, treatments, etc. that go with it).

• Attractiveness, or the overall appearance and presentation of the final project including:

o easily readable main points

o professional

o good color choice and contrast

o appropriate use of graphics and images or other media.
