Recycling of aluminum, glass, newspapers, and magazines is good for the environment and the economy. In 2013, San Francisco had the highest recycling rate in the United States30 (recycling rate = tons collected for recycling/tons of all waste generated). Despite efforts to make the process easier, many people still do not recycle. Independent random samples of residents in Ohio and in Florida were obtained and asked whether they recycle newspapers. Of the 909 Ohio residents, 700 said they recycled newspapers, and 691 of the 923 Florida residents said they recycled newspapers.

a. Is there any evidence to suggest that the population proportion of residents in Ohio who recycle newspapers is greater than the population proportion of residents in Florida? Use a = 0.01.

b. Find the p value for this hypothesis test.
