The NP begins her physical exam with an otoscopic examination which reveals impacted cerumen in her right ear. The NP irrigates the patient's right ear and is able to remove all of the cerumen. The patient tolerated the procedure well but did state that she felt a bit dizzy during the procedure. She reports that the feeling of fullness in her right has resolved. What is the NP's next best step in the plan of care for this patient? Group of answer choices Send the patient home because the impacted cerumen was the likely cause of her dizziness. Continue on with the physical exam because the cerumen impaction may not be the cause or only cause of her symptoms. Send patient home with a 2 week follow up appointment to determine if she is still dizzy. Refer the patient to an otolaryngologist (ENT) for additional testing to determine the cause of her diziness.
