What first line pharmacological treatment plan is recommended for a first-time psychotic episode, and what is the neurobiological rationale behind using this type of treatment. This treatment plan must be specific to a young adult male, in college and living with his parents. He was found running on the highway, paranoid, and having auditory hallucinations. He reports that voices have been telling him to hurt himself and his family. He has been brought in by police. His dad reports he has been secluding himself to his room and that he can hear him "talking to someone".
