Intro "Children played at those stories; they dreamed about them. They took them to heart and acted as if to live inside them" (Gregory Maguire). Children fall in love with fantasy stories because they are entertaining and have a happy ending. Children dream of living a life as they see in fairytales. They also like to imagine themselves living life as in fairytales. Fairytales are the first form of literature children are introduced to. A child learns a lot from fairytales whether its good or bad. Fairytales are tools that educates children from an early age. Fairytales can be negative on children because of gender roles. Gender stereotypes can affect children's awareness of their own abilities and potential.
