The purpose of this essay is for you to draw on your personal experience of leadership in the organisations you know either from working with them or as a result of research.This organisation may be a small one, or if you work for a large company, or a not for profit if that is appropriate.If you are not currently working, then select a company you know perhaps would like to work for and research it.

Your essay should use current leadership research (much of which is available on line) and should be a critique of the leadership style.Your reflection is not just about differences or similarities to theory but a series of observations of whether you are comfortable with their styles and whether they fit your ideals for a leader and therefore suit the organisation.You should nominate what styles and abilities you prefer and why.

This reflective essay is to assist you in analysing what you consider to be appropriate leadership.

This reflection forms the basis of any decision you will make in the future about where you work, how you operate as a manager and leader.
