Question

After calling Albert back to the exam room, I would make sure that he is comfortable and ask him if it is okay if I ask him a few questions about what brought him into the clinic today. After Albert says yes, I will begin the in-person screening process. "The purpose of the screening is to help patients focus on their main concern, the CC, and its related symptoms." (Blesi, 2022) First, I would ask him if he has experienced any shortness of breath/trouble breathing within the last few days. Secondly, I would ask Albert if he has traveled abroad within the last 2 weeks and/or has been in close contact with someone who has. Thirdly, has he experienced any loss of taste and/or smell? Next, I would ask Albert if he has any new and/or worsening symptoms such as body aches, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, or diarrhea that are not caused by an underlying medical condition. Lastly, I would ask Albert if he is waiting on a COVID-19 test result or has had a positive COVID-19 PCR result within the last month.
