Every so often, someone claims to have built a perpetual motion machine that can generate energy perpetually from nothing. Why isn't this possible according to the known laws of nature. Do some of research and find one perpetual motion machine that has been constructed (or designed) by a past inventor or scientist. Discuss why this machine will eventually run down. Include a picture or illustration.

Consider the modern perpetual motion machine. It is very convincing! Do you think this is an actual operating perpetual motion machine that will never run down? Why or why not? If not, from where does its energy come?
