Question

MSSA septic arthritis-left knee DRESS (drug related eosinophilic systemic syndrome)-2/2 Naficillin Right first toe-dry gangrene DM with peripheral neuropathy and angiography with gangrene. Hypokalemia Hospital Course: This This is a 60-year-old Caucasian male with history of diabetes with neuropathy who comes in to the emergency room with fevers from a nursing home where he is being treated for left knee septic arthritis with IV Nafcillin. Patient states that over the last 3 or 4 days that he was having fevers, diarrhea, as well as a new rash over his chest and arms. Infectious disease was consulted during his last admission and patient was discharged with IV Nafcillin. His orthopedic was also on the case. Fluid analysis from his knee was revealed staph aureus. Patient states increased swelling in his left knee since being at rehabilitation. Currently the patient has a PICC line in his left arm. He also has a right toe that is necrotic. Patient was having non-bloody diarrhea for the past 4 days. Patient also having rash with itching over his chest and arms were past couple days. Denies any new medications.
