Assignment : Dynamic Analysis of Circular Plate

Analysis:
A 1.1 Using the formulae provided, calculate the natural frequency for the fully clamped plate. Also calculate the final deflection under the specified loading.

A 1.2 Perform 'Modal Analysis' for the plate. Run the analysis to obtain the first five fundamental modes of the plate.

A 1.3 Apply the static pressure to determine the deflection in the middle of the plate. Also note the maximum stress in the plate.

A 1.4 Apply a rectangular pressure pulse (Static pressure - P) for a duration of 10 ms (Stepped Load) and note the maximum deflection and stress.

A 1.5 Re-run A1.4 but change to `14raped load' loading so that the total impulse remains the same.
Plot Von-Mises stress contours for all above cases. Discussion:

D 1.1 Compare the values obtained in A1.2 with the theory. Give a full explanation for the closeness of the results.

D 1 2 Compare the values obtained in A1.3 (final deflection) with the theory and discuss the results.

D 1.3 Explain why the results in A1.5 differ from those in the earlier analyses ( A1.3 and A1.4 ).

D 1.4 Discuss your understanding of static and dynamic loading and material behaviour under these loadings.
