The nurse and the transporter showed ethnocentrism as discussed in the earlier question. The recovery nurse was rude in disrespecting the patient's wishes regarding the oxygen masks and she was rude to the son when he explained why his father was rejecting the administration of oxygen. During the check in process, the registrar stated "What' the difference" when the information in the system was incorrect regarding Mr. Pierres ethnic background. The transporter was very inconsiderate, rude, and rolled his eyes when the patient asked him to please stop whistling as it was disrespectful to his culture. The nurse was extremely rude when the assistant asked if the family could bring Mr. Pierre food from home, she made an ugly comment about making the unit smell of curry. She also referred to the patient "Papie" when inquiring about his allergies. She also stated, "People of their culture always act like babies when they are in pain or sick.
