Introduction:

There are companies whose practices build trust among their employees as well as that of their customers. The group's members develop workplace norms and behaviors that spread throughout the organization and promotes a sense of team cohesion. In the text, it states, "Cohesion is defined as the extent to which group members are dependent on each other" (Lush, 2011 p 255). Fortune magazine has made it a practice to acknowledge these corporations in its magazine as "the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America" based on their excellent workplace environment. On the 2014 list three companies met this criteria were Google, Wegmanns, Food Markets and Boston Consulting Group. These three companies have practices in place that enhance employee morale and motivation such as extensive health care and benefits packages. As stated in the text "People apparently care a lot about the social context within which they work and play" (Helliwell, 2006 p C43).
