On the bedside stand there is discarded IV tubing, opened containers of normal saline, blood tinged gauze, and the patient's lunch tray. The patient is wearing soiled clothing and her linens have blood stains all over them. You are angry! The RN who was assigned to your patient is at the nursing station.
