Nurse P is notified that the patient in Room 412, Ms. H, needs medication for pain. On review of the EMAR, Ms. H has Motrin (Ibuprofen) 800 mg. ordered. Nurse P finds the Pixis drawer for Motrin 800mg to be empty. She notifies Pharmacy of the issue and they tell her someone will come to fill the drawer. An hour passes before Pharmacy arrives with the Motrin. When Nurse P enters the room to administer the Motrin, Ms. H's family angrily tells her they waited too long for pain medication. Nurse P understands that patient satisfaction was compromised.
