Question
Think of a time that you had a patient with a problem involving breast, cardiac, or lung assessments (ex: problems with breasts and lymphatics, thorax and lungs, heart and neck vessels, or peripheral vascular system).
Subjective/Objective: Without identifying your patient, give a short synopsis of the patient's history and chief complaint (include age, gender, and setting). What symptoms did this patient display? What questions were important for you to ask this patient? What specific physical assessments did you perform and why? What were your assessment findings and how did this direct your care for this patient?
Assessment: What was your top concern for this patient?
Plan: What were your goals and interventions for this patient?
What were the top three priority assessments that you performed or would perform if you had a patient like this again? Include how you cared for the patient holistically (mind, body, spirit). What interprofessional team members did you collaborate with in caring for this patient?
What do you think that you performed well during care for this patient? What would you do differently if you had it to do over again?
