What additional testing would be recommended for this patient and how would it be clinically beneficial for: A patient with coronary heart disease. Patient Complaint: "For the last few months I have been feeling short of breath when I walk, and I feel like I just can't be as active as I was before. I have also been having pain in my chest, and I am just tired all of the time." History of Present Illness/Review of Systems: Your patient is a 65-year-old African American male who first noticed symptoms six months ago. His shortness of breath seems to be getting worse with exertion and is not relieved with rest. The chest pain is intermittent and worse with exertion. OTC pain relievers are not sufficient to alleviate his chest pain. He states that his chest pain is a 6/10. He denies palpitations and syncope. The review of the remainder of his systems is negative. Past Medical/Social/Family History: The patient's medical history includes hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. No previous surgical history. The patient also states that he has smoked 2 packs per day for the last 20 years and drinks on average 2 beers per night. Family history includes hypertension.
