Question

The LPN/LVN is caring for a patient who admits to using intravenous drugs. The nurse will provide instruction on which method to prevent parenteral transmission of HIV? A new sterile needle should be used each time. Throw the needle and syringe in the trash after use. Drug paraphernalia can be shared if cleaned properly. Clean drug paraphernalia with soap and water.
