Question

Patient was instructed to perform pursed-lip deep breathing and coughing exercises to improve lung expansion, and breathing when SOB on exertion. Patient was instructed on aspiration precautions such as sitting upright when eating/drinking, always chewing foods well before swallowing and drinking fluid, eating and drinking slowly, drinking without the use of a straw, staying in an upright position (at least 45 degrees) for at least 1 hour after consuming food/drink.
