Question
In terms if a direct social working practice this involves more of a one on one setting with the patient to be able to help them with their specific situation. With direct social working there needs to be in person communication between both the patient and the social worker. When talking about indirect social working practice this is more on the lines with macro level within the communities and or organizations to be able to positively effect the social norms that they may need. With the indirect social working practice you do not need to be in person for communication as you are working within the communities and organizations not directly with a set patient. The ways that this can differ and might be able to overlap is if the social worker gives a patient the same resource. Then and only then will the social worker need to both provide the patient with one on one communication at that specific resource location. I think a more direct approach to the social working practice is a better fit for most patients it allows them to feel more comfortable and be more motivated with a one on one interaction.
