A 65 year old male patient presents to the clinic with complaints of joint pain of his left knee that has been going on for the past week. Patient states that the pain is limited to that one joint, but is it constant and that it does not improve with over the counter analgesics. Clinical examination shows an edematous L knee with diffuse erythema over the joint space. It is tender to gentle palpation. Range of motion is limited due to pain. Upon further questioning, the patient states that this periodically occurs several times a month and it seems to get worse when he drinks. These episodes tend to disappear on their own after a couple days. Vitals: The patient is afebrile with normal heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Labs: Labs are unremarkable. There is no leukocytosis. Joint aspiration is positive for uric acid crystals. Imaging: X-rays show mild joint space edema and localized inflammation. What is the most likely diagnosis?
