Mrs. Taylor can take in food by mouth, but has to adhere to the protocol of clear to solid foods. The patient is currently on a PCA pump, receiving Morphine to control her pain. The doctor has written an order for a General diet - starting with clear liquids and increase to solid as tolerated; no fluid restrictions. As the nurse, you will need to select a 24-hour meal-plan for Mrs. Taylor, and send the menu to the dietary center.
