Sharon Taylor is a 32-year old female who was admitted to unit 5S following leg surgery, after a car accident. Mrs. Taylor can take in food by mouth, but has to adhere to the protocol of clear to solid foods. The patient is currently on a PCA pump, receiving Morphine to control her pain. The doctor has written an order for a General diet - starting with clear liquids and increase to solid as tolerated; no fluid restrictions.
