Question

This 45-year-old male patient is scheduled at the ambulatory surgery center to have a Infusaid pump inserted. He has primary liver cancer, and he will undergo continuous administration of chemotherapy. Procedure: The right subclavian vein was cannulated without difficulty and the guidewire passed centrally. The subcutaneous tunnel and pocket were then created and the catheter passed through the tunnel. The central venous catheter was placed and connected to the pump. The pump was filled with chemotherapy agent provided by the surgery center. The patient was observed for adverse reaction and then discharged home.
