Yepikhodov, Madame Ranevskaya's husband enjoys snooping, particularly through the neighbor Freyr's trash. Yepikhodov takes Freyr's trash while Freyr is at work. The garbage can is at the curb, i.e., outside the curtilage, waiting the for the local sanitation department to pick up the trash. Yepikhodov goes through the trash and finds some interesting nick-nacks that he hopes to sell online, and documents marked 'classified,' regarding some mysterious balloon sighting. Yepikhodov calls the police and the local news station only to be told, albeit later, that mysterious balloons had been shot down by an F-16. Based on the facts and the law, is it legal for Yepikhodov to go through Freyr's trash? What about his calling the police and local news station, and of course selling the nick-nacks.
