Are modular organisms more or less likely to be part of the long-term community than are unitary organisms? Explain your thinking.
My thought process: Can grass plants be considered modular and redwood trees considered unitary? In this case, would it be reasonable to say that modular organisms are less likley to be a part of the long-term community because eventually space will become limited and more competitive organisms will be introduced and things like that?
When gold beads were injected into a cell to see whether or not they could get into the nucleus itwas discovered that beads bigger than 9 nm in diameter (orbigger than the size of a proteinwith a molecular weight of ~40,000) could not get intothe ..

Explain the development of Anabaena heterocysts. Include the names of important structures and compounds.
Discuss how more blood, and therefore more oxygen and substrates, are delivered to and metabolic byproducts are removed from active muscles and compare the physiologic and biochemical changes.
phenylalanine medium sometimes is prepared in broth form with a pH indicator simiar to that used in decarboxylase medium so that increases in pH then can be detected by development of purple color. when testing an organism for the ability to deami..
How does p53 regulate more than one process? what are the mechanisms of transcriptional regulation, signaling protein activation and inactivation, and regulation of intracellular protein trafficking?
Injection of double stranded RNA can lead to gene silencing by degradation of RNA molecules complementary to either strand of the dsRNA.
1). A cell is in the process of transcription. The single strand of DNA that is being copied has the sequence TAC GCA TTA CCC. Indicate the mRNA strand and then the tRNA strand that will be synthesized from this DNA strand listing the correct sequenc..
Your brother has just bought a new plastic model airplane. He places all the parts on the table in about the positions in which they will be located when the model is complete. His actions are analogous to which procedure in development.
The basic differences between RNA and DNA are.
What can deduce about the structure of this protein. he protein elutes in a void volume on a gel filtration column with a fractionation range of 30kDa to 300kDa
An enzyme has a KM of 20 µM and a Vmax of 50 mmoles of product/minute/µg of enzyme. After exposure to an inhibitor and analysis on a Lineweaver - Burk plot the following values are obtained: -1/ KM = - 0.05 liters/µmole and 1/ Vmax = 0.04 (mmoles..
