1. The three basic services provided by a parole agency are release, supervision, and executive clemency. Parole offers inmates who meet all the requirements the ability to be let out early. Inmates must of course have a good record and served at least one third of their sentence. The service that I believe is most essential to the concept of parole is supervision. Without having supervision and parole officers parolee's would freely be doing whatever they want with no repercussions. Which defies the point of being given a second chance and being given parole instead of doing their entire sentence. Some criticisms are that people simply just do not deserve the second chance. A lot of people do not believe one can just change so easily because of a couple of years in jail. This leads to alot of people not supporting and looking at parole as a negative option.
2. The three basic services provided by a parole agency are release, supervision, and executive clemency. Supervision is the most essential. Without a parolee being supervised, there is a chance for recidivism. It is important for parolee's to be supervised so that they do not fall back into the world of crime. With the help of supervision, parolee's are held accountable for their actions. Supervision can guide parolee's in the right direction and help them to get back on the right track in life. A criticism of parole is that parolee's might end up turning right back to crime once released. It can be hard for parolee's to find employment, which can then have them committing crime such as theft or drug dealing, in order to survive.
3. The parole agency has three basic services they are, parole release, parole supervision, and executive clemency. The most important one is the parole release in my opinion. Reason being because they have to monitor the parolees to make sure that they are doing what they are suppose to be doing and making sure they aren't violating parole which would make them have to go back to jail. Some of the criticisms would be making sure the parolees meet the factors that are needed to be viewed as ok on parole. Making sure they have the programs in place to make sure that they can be successful for them.
4. The three basic services of a parole agency are release, supervision, and executive clemency. Early release is usually given to offenders who served a portion of their original sentence, without violating the rules while in a correctional facility. Supervision occurs once the inmate is released from a facility. AT this time the offender has to check in with a parole officer and follow the guidelines this officer gives them. Failure to comply can lead to stricter parole conditions or the offender can be sent back to prison. Executive clemency is when someone has legal authority to pardon someone for their crime, commute, or reduce someones prison sentence. I believe the supervision aspect of these programs are the most important. Without supervision many of these offenders will go right back to a life of crime. And even with supervision many of them do, so this is why it is so important to supervise these offenders and try and keep them on the right track. Some criticisms for offenders being placed on parole is that they didn't actually learn their lesson or even finish the sentence they were given. Many think this is being to easy on criminals, and that they deserve to suffer and pay the consequences for what they have done.
5. The three basic services provided by parole agencies are release, supervision, and executive clemency. In order for an offender to get early release they must have served a majority of their sentence, did not receive additional charges while in prison, or break any severe rules. Then the defendant goes before the parole board where their crimes and behavior while in prison are reviewed. Supervision is after the inmate is released. They will be assigned a parole officer and that officer will give them rules that they must obey or they can be sent back to prison. Executive clemency is the authority a president or governor has to pardon or reduce an offenders sentence. I believe the most important role a parole agency covers is the supervisory role. Without this role many of these offenders would go right back to committing crimes and doing whatever they want until they are finally arrested again. Going from being locked up in prison to having all the freedom they want can be too much, too fast for some offenders. If these offenders are supervised this helps them get back to a normal life until they reached the point where they can be trusted again.
