In the state of education today, many factors affect the way students learn and complete their education. Some of these factors are the environment they live in, the neighborhood where they grew up, how educated the parents are, support from family and friends, available resources for studying and the family's economic and financial status. After watching the videos, three significant things about education were observed. Schools that have successful programs have better outcomes when it comes to student learning. Educated parents are much more interested in seeing their children succeed than parents who are less educated because they tend to spend more time with their children and participate with them in their studies. Teachers are one of the most significant factors when it comes to a student's achievement since they influence social behaviors and ways to be productive. Those who are motivated to learn, carry with them strategies to become successful. Motivation enhances student learning. Students come from many different backgrounds. Some are poor while others come from wealthy households. Students from a wealthy neighborhood will most likely have more educational resources like better libraries and after school activities to help them than those in the working class and poor communities. Those in the poor communities see education as a way to find a job after high school because it is more important for their family's wellbeing at the moment. In the video Education in Equality, the parents were stricter about making sure the child completed his homework or projects instead of letting him go hang out with his friends. Even though race should not play any part in the education, it should not have any effect if the parents continue to push the child into a brighter future. If the parent is more involved with their child's activities, their performance in school increases, so it is what parents do at home that makes it significant for success of children. Some children are just as smart as other children but lack the resources to make it through their education and so they find no motivation to continue otherwise. Having a curriculum that matches the child is important in enhancing learning because like adults, if a student does not make a connection with the material and how it applies to their future, they will react in a way as to tune it out, no information will be retained. Students need to be motivated by attitude of wanting to learn rather than just pleasing the teacher so no effort will be taken. A child's need should be based on the subject matter for which they find interesting as this will motivate them to continue to want more of the same thing. Teachers who paid more attention to the student's welfare before and after school learned more about his or her social influences and could adjust accordingly with their learning since some students learn differently than others. Teachers are the first to show that academics are important in the part to a bright future. Having quality teachers makes a big difference in how students learn because teachers serve as a role model in demonstrating confidence and knowledge which create a positive reinforcement for the student. Looking back at earlier days, there were some teachers that gave more reason to learn than those who did not pay attention to some students because they were from a different background or couldn't speak proper English. Teachers also motivates as they are respected and show how much education is important for the future. Motivation in the key to creating a successful student, if one is not motivated, then the chances for success decrease as the unwillingness to learn leads to less education and less chance to finding success. Having goals also a motivator, once you set yourself on achieving something, even in the simplest form, find it easier to have confidence towards that position. Having been in the military, they were several tools that were used to instill motivation when performing certain tasks, knowing that there is a good thing at the end of all the hard work pushed everyone to do the tasks and accomplish the mission. To stimulate motivation, all the necessary tools and technology are needed to enable students to seek the things they want and find the value of the reward. Every so often, a person has the ambition to get something done or achieve a certain goal, but lacks the push, the initiative and the willingness to take action. Whether they are rich or poor, motivation can move a person from being uneducated to finding success if even they don't have some of the resources. Taking action and making the vision a reality is vital to finding success. References Conger, R.D., K.J. Conger, G.H. Elder Jr., F.O. Lorenz & R.L.
