Question

In Thomson's e/m experiment, the parallel plates of dimension (1) 5 cm are separated by 1.5 cm and 200 volts are maintained between the plates. Find the magnetic field required to produce a deflection of 0.2 radians. Use currently accepted value of e/m for the calculation. Find the horizontal velocity for this case. Justify if relativistic effects need to be considered.
