Medieval Dead Assignment
Write a 3-4 page (minimum three full pages) paper about leprosy in medieval western Europe. You have two sources, and must use them both extensively: the Medieval Dead documentary and Timothy Miller's article, Medieval Leprosy Reconsidered.
-You may not quote large portions of text, but are encouraged to use short, descriptive quotations to help show your understanding of the source material and help your paper along. However, it is always best to summarize and use your own words. If you use a quotation, you must cite the source. However, it can be a basic citation. For example: Medieval Leprosy Reconsidered, pg. 21. If you cite the video, I need to know where in the video you found the information, so be sure to include that. For example, Medieval Dead documentary, 3 min. 31 sec.
-A full paragraph is at least 5-6 sentences.
-Do not use contractions (ex: don't, can't, shouldn't) or write in the first person.
-Make sure you're correctly using commas, apostrophes, and capitalization.
-One major capitalization mistake I commonly see in student papers concerns words that are sometimes capitalized, but sometimes not. For example, the word king is capitalized when referring to a specific king (ex: King Arthur), but isn't capitalized when simply referring to the position or title (ex: The king became upset with his advisors and dismissed them all from their positions of authority.).
-You must proofread your paper. Remember, it's best to print it out and make corrections with a colored pen. I will count off for grammar, syntax, and spelling errors.
