Purpose
The viability of a supply chain refers to its ability to survive in a changing social, technological, and political environment. This assignment aims to investigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on an Agribusiness and food supply chain in Australia and analyse how the redesign of structures and replanning of performance could help its viability.

Task details
Each student needs to work on the topic "Pandemic effects on the supply chain's strategies and operations", and conduct an in-depth analysis of the supply chain issues which are affected by the pandemic such as purchasing procurement, strategic sourcing, global sourcing, demand management and forecasting, and inventory issues.

Instructions
Assignment 2 requires students to write a business report. Regarding the recognized challenges, analyse from a theoretical perspective how the efficiency and responsiveness of the supply chain can be decreased concerning the pandemic. For example, how operations of a husbandry supply chain in Australia have been disrupted during the recent outbreak? You may focus on how network design, inventory, sourcing, and logistics operations have been affected by disruptions in demand and supply in a short period. How the decision makers can improve the responsiveness and/or efficiency of their services through collaboration and coordination across the supply chain in the above issues? You may discuss how uncertainty about the demand and supply may change the decisions and collaboration. Note that the above description is just an example to give some suggestions about the assignment.

Submit your final report as a Word document, including your analyses and recommendations about the business. The approximate time spent on this task is 45 hours. The report needs to have a Cover Page, i.e., the first page that provides the necessary information such as the report title, assignment number, title of the case, student number, student name, submission date, etc. Besides, the report should adopt the following format:

(1) Executive Summary (Summarise the topic of the investigation, the analysis, and the conclusions of the study in one page).

(2) Table of Contents (List the sections and subsections with corresponding page numbers on a separate page).

(3) List of Figures (List the figure numbers and captions with corresponding page numbers on a separate page whenever figures are used in the report).

(4) List of Tables (List the table numbers and captions with corresponding page numbers on a separate page whenever tables are used in the report).

(5) Overview of the Chosen Topic (The analysis needs to be comprehensive and covers all possible areas of the pandemic risks.).

(6) Real-World Case (To support your arguments, you should consider the typical supply chain recognized in Assignment 1).

(7) Discussion (Discuss how the identified issues are resolved or overcome by the supply chain to achieve viability in the post-pandemic era).

(8) Conclusion (Summarise the study and give insight based on the analysis and the findings).

(9) References (List at least 3 references used in the report in Academy of Management Referencing Style. Note that your reference list is not included in your total word count).

(10) Appendix (Show any additional information about the case company that will be useful for the reader to see how the firm leverages the supply chain function in question to gain its competitive advantage. Note that your appendix is not included in your total word count).
